Jakarta, Indonesia – In a real operational condition trial, the performance of Cuprum SAE 40 Oil has been meticulously evaluated on the main engine of Tugboat Pertama Jaya 02. This assessment, which spanned from March 16, 2022, to August 11, 2022, sheds light on the unparalleled benefits of Cuprum SAE 40 Oil in real-world maritime applications.

Performance Results Summary:

The study aimed to compare the performance of two engine oils, the operator-preferred oil and Cuprum SAE40, on the STB Caterpillar Engine of Tugboat Pertama Jaya 02. Findings revealed substantial advantages associated with Cuprum SAE 40 Oil, including remarkable fuel savings, reduced engine temperatures, extended oil lifespan, and enhanced vessel speed and power.

Technical Data Analysis:

Conducted under four distinct oil conditions, the technical data analysis revealed compelling insights into Cuprum SAE 40 Oil’s performance:

1. Standard Oil Baseline: Fuel consumption reached 51.6 Liters/Hour with Shell Engine Oil Rimula R2 40, whereas speed stood at 2.6 Knots/Hour.

2. Supplemental Cuprum Detergent Additive: Addition of Cuprum detergent additives to current oil led to decreased fuel consumption to 48 Liters/Hour and increased speed to 2.9 Knots/Hour.

3. Cuprum Oil (500 RH): After the additive, the oil was completely changed to Cuprum SAE 40. Fuel consumption decreased to 46.8 Liters/Hour after 500 running hours, with speed reaching 3.6 Knots/Hour.

4. Cuprum Oil (1200 RH): After 1200 running hours, fuel consumption further reduced to 46.8 Liters/Hour, with speed increasing to 3.6 Knots/Hour and cylinder block temperature decreasing to 74°C.

All the technical data measurement has been undertaken by a qualified third-party surveyor, PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Indonesian Classification Bureau)
