After usage of CUPRUM oil a dark film forms on the engine parts, what should I do?
If you notice dark deposits on engine parts after using CUPRUM oil, it is likely due to washed dirt in the oil. The polarity of the oil molecules causes the dirt to remain on the walls and not drain into the pan. However, there is no such plaque on the friction surfaces as confirmed by disassembly of engines running on our oil. You can get rid of these deposits by changing the oil, and the “effect” will go away.
Is it better to buy an additive or change the oil to CUPRUM oil?
While modern oils are generally interchangeable, CUPRUM oils offer several advantages, such as the absence of sulfur, good detergent properties, and a unique copper additive package that can help save money in the long run. While you can safely add an additive to the oil you use, purchasing oil with a copper package is more cost-effective than buying separate oil and additive.
Can I mix other oils with CUPRUM oil?
Mixing oils from different manufacturers is possible, but if the added volume is significant, it is not recommended to use such a mixture for an extended period. This is because the level of additives in both oils will be lower than necessary, which may reduce the protective properties of the oil. It is advised to replace such a mixture. You can add up to 30% of oil from a different manufacturer to CUPRUM oil.
I have been using CUPRUM oil for more than 10,000 km, but my oil consumption has increased. What could be causing this?
While using our oil, the engine’s deep cleaning process continues, removing dense and long-standing deposits common in high-mileage cars. These deposits may have settled on the pressure reducing valve (breather) of the crankcase ventilation system (PCV) or the oil separator in the valve cover, leading to increased pressure in the engine crankcase. This increased pressure can force oil through the piston rings into the combustion chamber, causing an increase in oil consumption. In addition, excessive fuel entering the lubrication system due to fuel equipment malfunction can also cause high oil consumption.
Our recommendations for addressing oil consumption include:
Checking engine compression
Inspecting the crankcase ventilation system (EGR)
Checking the oil caps.
What is the function of the CUPRUM fuel additive?
The CUPRUM fuel additive functions by purging the fuel system, dissolving oil sludge, and filtering it out. The additive also rejuvenates the surfaces of locking mechanisms, needles, plunger pairs, and wear-prone areas of the fuel pump. This leads to a rise in the fuel line pressure to its standard value and the restoration of the fuel system’s normal operation.
How long should I wait before changing my oil after using CUPRUM detergent?
For the flushing detergent, it is recommended to drive 300-500 km before changing the oil. For engine oil additives, you can use them until the next oil change.
Is it necessary to use a CUPRUM detergent before switching to CUPRUM oils in a new car?
Yes, it is recommended to use a CUPRUM detergent before switching to CUPRUM oils, even if the car has low mileage or is brand new. This is because all units with a minimum operating time have a process of mutual lapping of friction pairs (running-in), during which a large amount of wear products goes into the oil. Even at the next oil change, it is impossible to remove all of these wear products, as a large percentage of them remain in the non-drained residue of old used oil, which can be almost 10% of the total volume of the lubrication system.
By pouring CUPRUM oil without preliminary preparation, it is diluted by this percentage with old working out that has an increased content of wear products, which in turn leads to a more intense loss of the dispersing properties of CUPRUM oil. Using a washing additive prepares the unit by soft washing of the friction surfaces of parts and channels of the lubrication system from sludge, carbon deposits, and other wear products. In addition, the non-drained residue already contains the percentage of the CUPRUM additive necessary to obtain the greatest effect, which allows it to maintain its balance after mixing with new oil. The flushing additive also changes the acid-base environment in the lubrication system, providing more favorable conditions for the operation of CUPRUM oil.
Do I need to drive 500 km after using CUPRUM detergent?
Yes, it is recommended to drive 300-500 km after using the washing additive. This allows for the removal of any remaining deposits and contaminants from the engine. By doing so, the benefits of switching to our oil will be maximized.
I filled in the CUPRUM detergent and did not look at the correct proportions. As a result, I exceeded the concentration.
If the concentration of CUPRUM detergent is exceeded by more than twice, it is recommended to change the fluid, especially for new engines. However, if the concentration is only slightly exceeded and the engine is not new and has high mileage, then it is generally safe to leave everything as is. It is essential to pay special attention to units with valve mechanisms, such as engines, automatic gearboxes, robots, and variators.
